Reference
Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to fish
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
10-24 July 1992
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test)
GLP compliance:
yes
Analytical monitoring:
no
Details on sampling:
The substance is readily soluble and stable in water. Analytical monitoring was therefore considered unnecessary.
Vehicle:
no
Test organisms (species):
Danio rerio (previous name: Brachydanio rerio)
Test type:
semi-static
Water media type:
freshwater
Limit test:
yes
Total exposure duration:
96 h
Reference substance (positive control):
no
Key result
Duration:
96 h
Dose descriptor:
LC50
Effect conc.:
> 1 000 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
mortality (fish)
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
No mortality was observed at 1000 mg/l. The LC50 is >1000 mg/l
Executive summary:

The toxicity to fish was determined acording to the OECD 203 test guideline in accordance with GLP, with exposure to Brachydanio rerio (new name: Danio rerio) at a test concentration of 1000 mg/l. As the substance is highly water soluble and hydrolytically stable no analytical monitoring was conducted. Following a 96 hour exposure, no mortality occured. The LC50 is >1000 mg/l.
