Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance Reaction product of adipic acid and sebacic acid and isotridecan-1-ol was demonstrated to be readily biodegradable in an OECD 301B-test. This result is supported by tests of analogues and components.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

In OECD 301B-tests reaction product of adipic acid and sebacic acid and isotridecan-1 -ol and the diisotridecyl adipate were readily biodegradable. In EPISuite-calculations it was also found that the components/isomers of these substances, including the diisotridecyl sebacate, are readily biodegradable. Addionally the read-across substances Diisotridecyl dodecanedioate and bis (2-ethylhexyl) adipate were in OECD-tests readily biodegradable. Therefore it is likely that the reaction product of adipic acid and sebacic acid and isotridecan-1 -ol including the components are readily biodegradable and not persistent.
