Description of key information

No increase in the temperature of the sample in comparison to that of the oven could be detected; also no signs of ignition could be observed. The test item is considered as not auto-flammable up to the melting point of 219.1 to 236.7 °C under the test conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 Part A method A.16 to determine the auto-ignition temperature of the test item. Therefore the test item was filled in a cube and mounted into the oven at 20 °C. The temperatures of the oven and the sample were recorded every 5 minutes while the temperature of the oven was increased to 250 °C with a nominal heating rate of 0.5 K/min. No increase in the temperature of the sample in comparison to that of the oven could be detected; also no signs of ignition could be observed. The test item DOCU Red 116 is considered as not auto-flammable up to the melting point of 219.1 to 236.7 °C under the test conditions. No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome.
