Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 102, Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.1 and OPPTS 830.7200 to determine the melting point of the test item. The test item was filled into a small glass tube at room temperature and was gently heated with a gas burner in an aluminium block with a heating rate of < 1 K/min until melting started. The temperature was noted at which the first signs of melting of the test item were observed. In the pre-test the test item began to change the colour to slightly green at approx. 224 °C and at approx. 250 °C the test item changed finally to a black, highly viscous molten mass. A change of colour could not be investigated during the main study, but after the heating process the test item did not return into the original state. Therefore, the melting range of the test item should was determined to be 219.1 to 236.7 °C under decomposition. The validity criterion “difference between duplicate determinations” was met. No observations were made which might cause doubts on the validity of the study out-come. Therefore, the result of the study is considered valid.
