Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
other: Stability test in Water
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Guideline study and GLP
Qualifier:
no guideline available
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Results:
Via Si-NMR and HPLC investigations it could be shown that the test itm Ethanol, 2,2'-oxybis-, reaction products with 3-(triethoxysilyl)-1-propanamine is not stable in water. It immedately undergoes condensation reaction that form "-Si-O-Si" moieties with hieg polymerization degree and liberate the diethylene glycol amount, that was initially added for reaction with 3-(triethoxysilyl)-1-propanamine.
Thus analysis of the test item Ethanol, 2,2'-oxybis-, reaction products with 3-(triethoxysilyl)-1-propanamine is not possible in aqueous solution.
