Oxidising properties:

Additional information

In the Klimisch 1 non-GLP study from Bütfering (2013) the oxidizing properties of Butanedioic acid, sulfo-, 4-C12-14-alkyl esters, disodium salts were determined according to EEC method A.17. Prior to testing the test material Tensomild H026 was grinded and mixed with cellulose. The mixtures of 10 to 60 % test substance : cellulose exhibited no complete burning over the distance of 200 mm. The samples of 70 and 80% exhibited significantly slower burning rates than 90%. The burning rate of the 90:10% test substance: cellulose mixture was with 0.9 mm/s significantly slower than the burning rate of the reference substance (Barium nitrate: cellulose 60:40%) with 1.2 mm/s. All measurements of the 90:10% test material: cellulose were within 10% of the mean and hence fulfilling the validity criterium of the test guideline. The test item Butanedioic acid, sulfo-, 4-C12-14-alkyl esters, disodium salts has hence no oxidizing properties according to EC 440/2008, method A.17.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the chemical structure and the additional classification considerations given in the in the Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) Chapter 2.13.4. it can be excluded beyond reasonable doubt that Butanedioic acid, sulfo-, 4-C12-14-alkyl esters, disodium salts has oxidising properties.

Therefore, classification and labelling are not needed.
