Description of key information

The vapour pressure of the substance was determined experimentally to be 0.05 Pa at 20ºC.
The estimated vapour pressure for test substance is 2.2 x 10-5 Pa at 25°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.05 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The vapour pressure measurements were performed in accordance with EEC Directive 67/548, Annex V, Method A4 as published in 84/449/EEC.

The vapour pressure of Di-isopropyl xanthogen polysulphide has been determined to be 3.61 x 104 Pa at 298K (25°C).

This experimental vapour pressure was considered to be attributable to an impurity in the substance (possibly sulphur) and not reflective of the vapour pressure of the substance.

The vapour pressure was therefore predicted using a computer program, EPISuite (mpbpwin program).

The prediction was run using the SMILES code for the main substance constituent (0,0-di(1-methylethyl)tetrathio-bis-

thioformate, DIXT).

The predicted vapour pressure was 2.2 x 10-5 Pa at 25°C.

In June 2103, a new experimental determination was conducted in GLP certified labs. Test conducted to EU reg 440/2008 annex Part A test A4- to finalise the true reading

Mean of two runs, the vapour pressure was confirmed as 0.05Pa at 20°C
