Sampling and analysis
- Analytical monitoring:
- yes
- Details on sampling:
- - Concentrations: nominal 100 mg test item/L
- Sampling method: Duplicate samples from the freshly prepared test media of the only test concentration and the control were taken at the start of the test. Additionally samples were collected at the end of the test.
- Sample storage conditions before analysis: All samples were analysed directly after sampling
Test solutions
- Vehicle:
- no
- Details on test solutions:
- PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION
- Method: Since the test item hydrolyses in water very quickly, in the present test the hydrolysis products of the test item were tested, according to the draft guidance document on aquatic toxicity testing of difficult substances. Therefore, the test item was mixed into test water at a concentration of 100 mg/L and was stirred for 24 hours. Thus, the main part of the test item at the start of the test were hydrolysis products.
Test organisms
- Test organisms (species):
- Daphnia magna

- Details on results:
- Since it is possible to recalculate the values to the initially applied concentration of test item, the reported analytical results are related to test item. At the start of the test just before introduction of the Daphnia 88 % of nominal, recalculated to test item, were found. After 48 hours test duration 78 % of the nominal value were determined. Thus, during the test period of 48 hours the Daphnia were exposed to the hydrolysis products of a mean of 83 mg test item/L. Since in the
mean 83 % of nominal were found, the reported results are related to the nominal concentration of 100 mg test item/L. - Results with reference substance (positive control):

Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- Substance is not toxic or harmful to daphnids.
- Executive summary:
The substance was administered to Daphnia magna at a limit concentration of 100 mg/l (nominal) according to OECD guideline 202. No immobilization occured neither after 24 hours nor after 48 h.
