The test substance has the following molecular formula: C6H13NO3. The calculated oxygen balance is –168.5%. This value is within the region where there may be a potential for explosivity, however, there are no plosophores or auxoploses present in the structure.

A DSC analysis was performed using 2.69 mg of L-TEE. There was no evidence of exothermic decomposition.

The DSC test was performed using 2.69 mg of L-TEE. There was no evidence of exothermic decomposition. When the exothermic energy is greater than 500 J/g, it is considered that a potential for explosion is present, consequently the absence of an exotherm decomposition indicates that the test substance is non explosive.
