Preliminary test:

A preliminary test was performed to check the approximate freezing temperature of the test substance. The test item was stored at about -20°C in a deep freezer. As the sample was not frozen after storage of 96 hours, the freezing temperature of the test substance is considered to be <-20°C.

The determination of the freezing temperature with thermocouples showed no heat effect from which freezing could be deducted. Therefore, the phase transformation was determined visually.

Main study:

Two main tests were performed to check the approximate freezing point of the test substance. At room temperature, the test item was clear and colourless and the agitator was stirring. The mixtures were cooled down to about -68°C. The test item became white and cloudy at -19°C. At -68°C, the test item was still white and the consistency increased so the sample was a paste-like mass. At the end of the test, the test item was not frozen.

Conclusions:
A freezing temperature of <-68°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using a relevant test method and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable.
