Description of key information
Based on its physical chemical properties, Citronella Oil (CYMBOPOGON NARDUS) needs to be classified as a flammable liquid (Category III) according to the criteria of Regulation 1272/2008/EC (CLP).
Citronella Oil is a clear, yellow, free-flowing liquid with a fresh, citronellal-like odor as determined by visual and olfactory inspection.
The melting/freezing point of citronella oil (cymbopogon nardus) is < -25ºC at ambient pressure.
Citronella oil (Cymbopogon Nardus) has a boiling range of 160-247ºC at ambient pressure.
The density of Citronella oil (Cymbopogon Nardus) is 0.8996 at 20ºC.
The initial vapour pressure of Citronella oil (Citronella nardus) was found to be 61.19 Pa at 25°C. The vapour pressure of the constituents ranges from 0.06 - 536.0 Pa (QSAR).
The log Kow range for Citronella oil (Citronella nardus) constituents was found to be 2.85 - 7.10. 40.2% of the substance has a log Kow >= 4.0 (QSAR).
The main constituent, Geranoil, has a solubility > 100 mg/L, 49.5% of the NCS has a water solubility < 100 mg/L. The range of water solubilities for the known constituents of Citronella oil (Citronella nardus) is 0.05-1767.30 mg/L at 25°C (QSAR).
The Flash point of Citronella oil (Cymbopogon Nardus) is 59.3ºC at ambient pressure.
The auto-ignition temperature of Citronella oil (Cymbopogon Nardus) is 240ºC at 1017 hPa.
