No melting temperature was found between O °C and decomposition of the test item, starting at about 220 °C.

The estimated accuracy is ± 1 °C.

Observed thermal processes

Starting at about 50 °C up to about 180 °C, an endothermal area was observed at all determinations. After determination Test 2 (up to 180 °C) the test item was as powdery as before and the color

changed slightly darker. This was a clear indication that the observed endothermic area and the registered weight loss of 3.2 % showed mainly the vaporization of volatiles, but a beginning degradation

cannot be excluded.

Another endothermal peak at 203 °C peak temperature was found in Test 1 and 3. After determination Test 1 (up to 250 °C) the test item was as powdery as before and the color changed into a dark

brown. Therefore, the test item was not molten up to this temperature. The distinct weight loss after this measurement (8.7 %) and the continuously increasing weight loss in the TG/DSC-measurement

(non-GLP) clearly suggest that already the endothermic maximum around 200 °C is caused by a beginning degradation.

After determination Test 3 (up to 360 °C) the test item was still powdery as before but the color changed into black. Therefore, no melting occurred up to this end temperature. However, latest with the

beginning of the exothermic regime at about 220 °C (Test 1 and 3), a degradation of the test item is ensured.

These observations are confirmed by the preliminary TG/DSC-Test (non-GLP). A stepwise weight loss starting at about 150 °C with a weight loss of about 17 % at 600 °C showed the decomposition of

the test item.
