The partition coefficient of resin acids and rosin acids, maleated, potassium salts was determined using HPLC and according to OECD 117 technical guidelines. The partition coefficient (Log Pow) range of resin acids and rosin acids, maleated, potassium salts was determined to be 1.4 to >6 (7.9) in media adjusted to pH 2. In unbuffered media, a partition coefficient of 4.7 was determined.
This is a GLP-compliant, guideline study and is considered to be suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint.
