Additional information

There is no measured melting/freezing point for the submission (target) substance. Therefore, good quality data were read-across from a structural analogue, [3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propyl]diethoxy(methyl)silane (source substance). The source and target substances are both dialkoxysilanes with 3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propyl and methyl side-chains. The difference between these substances is that the two alkoxy groups are ethoxy for the source substance and methoxy for the target substance. The source substance has a higher molecular weight than the target substance and as a result, the melting/freezing point of the source substance is expected to be higher than that of the target substance. A melting point value of <-80°C was determined for [3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propyl]diethoxy(methyl)silane in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol, and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable and is read-across to the submission substance, [3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propyl]dimethoxy(methyl)silane.
