According to the Handbook of Industrial Surfactants (4th Edition), the melting point of the test item is in the temperature range from 180-190 °C. The data is provided to support the result from an experimental study.
Measured melting point temperature:
1st: 180.1 °C
2nd: 180.8 °C
=> mean value: 180.5 °C.
At a temperature of approx. 210 °C the test item started to decompose. The decomposition was indicated by a short exothermal heat flow.
A mean value of 180.5 °C for melting point was determined in a reliable study conducted according to EU method A.1, and in compliance with GLP.
The melting point of the test item was determined according to EU A.1 and is 180.5 °C.
The result from the experimental study is supported by handbook data where a temperature range from 180 -190 °C is reported for the melting point of the test item.
