Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Executive summary:

The explosive properties have been tested according to EU method A.14. The method comprises on three parts: test of thermal sensitivity, test of mechanical sensitivity with respect to shock, test of mechanical sensitivity with respect to friction.

Thermal sensitivity has been tested by the tube test. In two series the substance had been heated to 800 °C for 5 minutes. In both test series no explosion occurs.

Mechanical sensitivity with respect to shock has been tested by a series of six tests, using a fall hammer. In all tests no explosion occurs.

Mechanical sensitivity with respect to friction has been tested by a series of six tests using a porcelain peg with 360 N loading. In all tests no explosion occurs.
