Description of key information

The melting points of substances in the category Rosin esters range from <-20°C (freezing point) to 125°C.

The pour point of resin acids and rosin acids, hydrogenated, esters with glycerol was determined to be in the range of 63.5 -83.3°C. The final melting point was recorded as 83.3°C as there were no solid particles remaining. However, due to the viscosity of the resulting liquid, a complete meniscus did not form until 97°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A GLP-compliant study, conducted according to EU Method A.1, was provided for Resin acids and rosin acids, hydrogenated, esters with with glycerol (Chilworth Technology Ltd., 2010a).
