Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A study is planned to assess the biodegradation in water endpoint.

The biodegradation in sediment endpoint has been waived because adsorption studies indicate a very low potential for the test substance to adsorb to sediment, sludge or soil and therefore exposure to sediment organisms is considered unlikely (Log Kow of -1.32, a Koc of <17.8 and a Log Koc of <1.25). Annex IV states simulation testing for sediments is only required for substances with a high potential for absorption to the sediment. No exposure to the environment is anticipated from the use of the ink product. Within the European Union, the Registrant offers a returns programme for their ink printers, empty ink cartridges and larger ink systems used in commercial printing. The Registrant offers an EU-wide take back programme and repurposing programme for 200 L barrels and 1000 L totes. No further testing is required on the basis of a low potential for exposure of the test substance to the sediment environment. No further testing is required.
