Description of key information

The test substance [Acid Blue 007] is a dark bluish organic powder at 1013 hPa and 20°C.

OECD TG 102 - DSC Analysis - The test substance decomposes before melting between 237 and 300°C.

The relative density, determined by means of a pycnometer, was 1.371 at 20°C.

The particle size distribution of the Acid Blue 007 was determined by laser diffraction analysis and the MMD resulted 10.200 µm.

Acid Blue 007 is very soluble in water (134.80 g/l at 20°C and pH 4.93) and Kow value was calculated as 0.0132 (average log Pow: -1.8796), showing a greater affinity with the water phase, than the octanol phase.

Since it is a solid, properties like vapour pressure, surface tension and flash point can be neglected.

Acid Blue 007 was found to be non auto-flammable and non flammable. Moreover, based on thermal behavior and experience in handling and use it is not expected to be explosive; based on the chemical structure, no oxidising potential is expected.
