Any other information on results incl. tables
The test item in a closed glass crucible showed an exothermic effect in the temperature range of 200 – 360 °C, with an average energy of approximately -470 J/g.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Interpretation of results:
- non explosive
- Remarks:
- Migrated information
- Conclusions:
- According to the results of the test on thermal stability, the test item is classified as follows concerning explosive/ self reactive properties:
UN Transport Regulation:
The test item does not have to be classified as explosive substance in class 1 according to the UN Transport Regulation.
The test item does not have to be classified as a self-reactive substance in class 4, division 4.1 since the SADT is > 75 °C.
GHS (CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008: Annex 1: 2.1 / 2.8):
The test item does not have to be classified as explosive substance according to GHS or CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008 Annex 1: 2.1, respectively
The test item does not have to be classified as a self-reactive substance since the SADT is > 75 °C.
.
Regulation EC 440/2008 and Directive 67/548/EEC:
The test item has no explosive properties according to the Regulation EC 440/2008 Method A.14. Explosive Properties. - Executive summary:
As a pre-test the thermal stability of the test item was determined according to OECD guideline 113. It showed an exothermic effect in the temperature range of 200 - 360 °C, with an energy of approximately 470 J/g.
Since the decomposition energy is below 500 J/g a danger of detonation and explosive properties can be excluded.
The test item shows decomposition at higher temperatures of 200°C with a decomposition energy of above 300 J/g. Due to the fact that th exothermic effect started above 200 °C it can be stated that the SADT is greater than 75°C.
