Description of key information

Experimental water solubility of test item at 20°C : 434 g/L, the test item is very soluble in water at 20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
434 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The water solubility was determined by the Shake-flask method according to EU Method A.6, OECD Guideline 105 and GLP. No deviation from the guideline was observed during the test.

The water solubility of the test substance is close to the value of an analogue substance. The analogue is "Reaction product of naphthalene, propan-2-ol, sulfonated and neutralized by caustic soda" having a water solubility at 20°C of 604g/l. The same method was used for the analogue substance and the test substance to determine this parameter. The slight difference between these two values can be explained by the chemical structure of these two substances. The analogue substance possess a smaller carbon chain than the test substance. So it has more affinity for the water phase.

The both substances are considered as very soluble in water.
