Not readily biodegradable: 45 % after 28 d (O2 consumption, OECD 301F)
One study is available investigating the ready biodegradability of the test substance according to OECD 301F (GLP; Spoo-Klöppel, 2015). Activated sludge from a wastewater treatment plant treating predominantly domestic sewage was used as inoculum. A test substance concentration of 100 mg/L was tested and the O2 consumption was recorded after 28 d. After 28 d the test substance was degraded to 45 % indicating that the substance is not readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria. However, it can be classified as “inherently biodegradable, not fulfilling specific criteria”. The results of this study are considered to be valid since the validity criteria were met. Moreover, the test substance is not toxic to the inoculum. 56 % degradation after 14 d was measured in the toxicity control.
