Test Objective

To screen a sample of 3.7.11-trimethyldodecyn-3-ol in order to determine the onset temperature and magnitude of any endothermic or exothennic events when ramped to elevated temperatures.

Test Results

1.Reaction

Onset-temperature

130°C

Peak temperature

153.3°C

Energy release

28 J/g

2.Reaction

Onset-temperature

306.8°C

Peak temperature

312°C

Energy release

556 J/g

The sampte was observed to undergo an exothermic event from 119.5°C which had a heat of decornposition of -27 8 J/g. A second exothem was then observed to commence from 208.7°C which had a heat of decornposition or -556.2 J/g. No further significant energelic events were noted up to 500°C.
