Description of key information

Based on the geometric mean measured concentrations of the test item 3,7,11-trimethyldodecyn-3-ol, the 48 hour-EC50 for Daphnia magna was 0.233 mg/L (95 % confidence limits: 0.210 – 0.266 mg/L).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50/LC50 for freshwater invertebrates:
0.233 mg/L

Additional information

A GLP-guideline study on 3,7,11-trimethyldodecyn-3-ol to investigate the toxicity on aquatic invertebrates were conducted on Daphnia magna in a static 48 h OECD 202 study (BASF SE 2016, 50E0025/05X055). Based on the geometric mean measured concentrations of the test item 3,7,11-trimethyldodecyn-3-ol, the 48 hour-EC50 for Daphnia magna was 0.233 mg/L (95 % confidence limits: 0.210 – 0.266 mg/L).
