Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Study conducted according to internationally accepted testing procedure
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The test was performed according to the SOP - STR 071 protocol.
Laser light scattering.
The particle size distribution was analyzed using the Mastersizer 2000 tool, which uses the technique of laser diffraction to measures the size of particles. It measures the intensity of light scattered as a laser beam passes through a dispersed particulate sample. This data is then analyzed to calculate the size of the particles that created the scattering pattern.
The sample was dispersed, stirred and ultrasonicated prior the analytical characterisation by light scattering.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
Laser scattering/diffraction
Type of distribution:
volumetric distribution
