Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

OECD Guideline 202_Daphnia magna_21 day-Reproduction: Based on nominal loading rates of Water Soluble Fractions (WSF): ELR50 (immobilisation P1): 2.0 mg/L (14 d) and 1.9 mg/L (21 d); ELR50 (reproduction): 2.0 mg/L (21 d); NOEC = 1.0 mg/L (21 d). Based on concentrations of test material in WSF: EC50 (immobilisation P1): 0.65 mg/L (14 d) and 0.63 mg/L (21 d); EC50 (reproduction): 0.55 mg/L (21 d); NOEC = 0.42 mg/L (21 d).

Additional information

A study was performed to assess the effect of the test material on the reproduction of Daphnia magna over a 21 day period according to OECD Guideline 202. Daphnia were exposed (four replicates of 10 daphnids per group) to a Water Soluble Fraction (WSF) of the test material over a range of loading rates of 0.50, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 and 8.0 mg/L. The test solutions were renewed 3 times per week. The 14 and 21 day ELR50 (immobilisation) values, based on nominal Loading Rates, for P1 were calculated to be 2.0 and 1.9 mg/L. The 21 day ELR50 (reproduction) is approximately 2.0 mg/L. The NOEC is considered to be 1.0 mg/L loading rate WSF. Analysis of the test preparations confirmed that there was no significant change in phosphorus concentration over a 48 and 72 hours period. Therefore based on the results of the test sample analyses the ELR50 values were also calculated in terms of the amount of test material present in the WSFs:The 14 and 21 day EC50 (immobilisation values) based on mean measured concentrations for P1 were calculated to be 0.65 and 0.63 mg/L. The 21 day EC50 (reproduction) based on mean measured concentrations amounts to 0.55 mg/L; NOEC = 0.42 mg/L.
