Additional information

For the weight-of-evidence approach, three experimental studies are available which determine the flash point of the substance Reaction Products of Diphosphorus Pentaoxide with Alcohols, C8-10, salted with Amines, C12-14, Tert-alkyl.

The substance was analyzed by ASTM D931 [Standard Test Methods for Flash Point by Pensky-Martens Closed Cup Tester] which is equivalent to ISO 2719:2002 (Anonymous, 2014). A flash point of 88°C was determined.

In another study, the flash point of the substance was detected in accordance with EU Method A.9 of Commission Directive 92/69/EEC resulting in a flash point of 114 ± 2°C (Tremain and Bartlett, 1995).

The flash point determination of the substance was additionally carried out using a closed cup flash point tester, using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A9 Flash Point of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 (Fox, 2015). GLP compliance was warranted. The flash point of the substance has been determined to be 98 ± 2 °C.
