Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Ingestion : Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Skin contact : Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. In the case of skin irritation or allergic reactions see a physician.
Eye contact : Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, also under the eyelids. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Protection of First-aiders : Use personal protective equipment.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons : Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.
Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself, combustion products, resulting gases :
Heating or fire can release toxic gas.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Other Information : Cool containers / tanks with water spray. Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions : Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined area. Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system.
Methods for containment : Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.
Methods for cleaning up : Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations (see section 13 of the safety data sheet). Use clean non-sparking tools to collect absorbed material. After cleaning, flush away traces with water. Recover waste water for processing late
Handling and storage
Prevention of fire and explosion : Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Make sure of the presence of air and inhibitor in the drums.
Technical Measures/Storage Conditions : Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Protect from frost, heat and sunlight. Ensure all equipment is electrically grounded before beginning transfer operations. Keep at temperatures below 45°C. Provide impermeable floor. Provide a catch-tank in a bunded area.
Materials to Avoid : Acids, Bases, Oxidizing agents, Reducing agents.
Packaging material : Polyethylene containers. Baked phenolic lined carbon steel drums.
Unsuitable materials for containers : Copper. Iron.
Further information : Respect the advised storage time (6 months after delivery date).

Exposure controls / personal protection
Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.
Occupational exposure controls
Engineering measures :
Apply technical measures to comply with the occupational exposure limits.
When working in confined spaces (tanks, containers, etc.), ensure that there is a supply of air suitable for breathing and wear the recommended equipment.
Personal protective equipment :
General Information : Use personal protective equipment in good condition.
Respiratory protection : In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment
Eye protection : Safety glasses with side-shields. Contact lenses should not be worn when working with this chemical.
Skin and body protection : Long sleeved clothing.
Hand protection : Do not use natural rubber gloves. For prolonged use: multi-layer laminated, thickness >=0.065 mm, breakthrough time >=240min. For short-term (prevention of splashes): same gloves, completed with nitrile glove thickness >0.5mm, breakthrough time >=60min. Replace gloves immediately when torn or any change in appearance (dimension, colour, flexibility, etc) is noticed.
Environmental exposure controls
Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system.
Stability and reactivity
Hazardous polymerisation :
Inhibitors have been added to stabilize this product.
Maintaining air in the storage containers is important to keep inhibitors active.
Conditions to avoid :
Heat, flames and sparks.
Take precautionary measures against static charges.
Materials to avoid :
Acids, Bases, Oxidizing agents, Reducing agents.
Hazardous decomposition products :
Incomplete combustion and thermolysis produces potentially toxic gases such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide
Disposal considerations
Should not be released into the environment.
Dispose of in accordance with the European Directives on waste and hazardous waste.
Contaminated packaging :
Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal.
Other information :
According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes are not product specific, but application specific.
Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used.
