Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test item 1,10-decanediyl diacrylate to Danio rerio exposed under semi-static conditions for 96h was assessed according to the OECD 203 Guideline. Fish were exposed to a series of dilutions of saturated stock solutions in dilution water, renewed every day throughout the test period.

Test item concentrations were determined at each observation time in biotic and abiotic tanks, as well as in the different stock solutions used for the renewals. Results have shown an important loss of the test item in biotic tanks, but this was not observed with abiotic tanks: this could be related to adsorption on fish; as a consequence the fish were considered to be exposed to all the substance introduced with fresh solutions. However, due to the increasing concentration observed in fresh solutions, the LC50 were appraised based on the geometric mean of the measured concentrations.
