In accordance with REACH Annex IX Column 2, tests of biodegradation in soil are not required because terephthalic acid is readily biodegradable.

In accordance with REACH Annex IX column 2, tests of biodegradation in soil are not required because terephthalic acid is readily biodegradable.

Additionally, terephthalic acid is not applied directly to soil and it is not expected to be transferred indirectly to soil in significant quantity via disposal of STP sludges or aerial deposition.
