Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Two viscosity studies are available for MDI mixed isomers. A viscosity of the substance of 9.09 cSt was determined by Baker (2010) and considered as supporting data.

A recent key study performed at DEKRA (2019) determined a viscosity of:

12.72 Cst (mean of 2 runs) at 20° C, and

6.038 Cst (mean of 2 runs) at 40°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Viscosity:
12.7 mm²/s (static)
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The viscosity of the test substance was determined with the CIPAC method MT22 (1994) in the Baker (2010) report. The kinematic viscosity at 20 degrees Celsius was 9.09 cSt.
