Description of key information

Based on structural analogues, the vapour pressure of the test substance is estimated to be between 0.0014 Pa and 0.00062 Pa at 20°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test substance is covered by the category approach of methylenediphenyl diisocyanates (MDI). Hence, data of the category substances can be used to cover this endpoint. No experimental vapour pressure data is available for MDI mixed isomers. The read-across records for the individual isomers of MDI show that the vapour pressure of 2,4'-MDI (Fisk and Langner, 1995) was determined as 0.0014 Pa at 20°C and that a review of studies on the vapour pressure of 4,4'-MDI (Pemberton, 2001) calculated a best-fit value of 0.00062 Pa at 20°C. These values give an indication of the vapour pressure of a mixture of the isomers.
