First-aid measures

General information
Immediate medical attention is required. Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to protect themselves. Keep victim warm. In case of shortness of breath, give oxygen.
Description of first aid measures
Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Do not use mouth-to-mouth method if victim inhaled the substance. Induce artificial respiration with the aid of a pocket mask equipped with a one-way valve or other proper respiratory medical device.
Skin contact
In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention immediately.
Eye contact
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.
If material is ingested, immediately contact a physician or poison control centre. Have victim
rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Never give anything by mouth to a victim who is unconscious or
is having convulsions. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. If vomiting occurs naturally,
have victim lean forward to reduce risk of aspiration.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Corrosive effects. The product causes burns of eyes, skin and mucous membranes. Permanent eye damage including blindness could result.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed. Symptoms may be delayed. If evacuation of stomach contents is necessary, use method least likely to cause aspiration. This material, if aspirated into the lungs, may cause chemical pneumonitis; treat the affected person

Fire-fighting measures

General fire hazards
Not available.
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media
Dry chemical, CO2, water spray or regular foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media
Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Decomposition of this product may emit oxides of nitrogen and carbon monoxide.
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters
Not available.
Special firefighting procedures
Wear full protective clothing, including helmet, self-contained positive pressure or pressure
demand breathing apparatus, and face mask. Move containers from fire area if you can do it without
risk. For massive fire, use unmanned hose holders or monitor nozzles; if this is impossible,
withdraw from area and let fire burn. ALWAYS stay away from tanks engulfed in flame. Some of these
materials, if spilled, may evaporate leaving a flammable residue. In the event of fire and/or
explosion do not
breathe fumes. In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
For non-emergency personnel Avoid contact with spilled material. For emergency responders
Keep unnecessary personnel away. Ventilate closed spaces before entering. Do not touch damaged
containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Remove all sources
of ignition. Stay upwind.
Environmental precautions
Not available.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Eliminate all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks, or flames in immediate area).
Extinguish all flames in the vicinity. Should not be released into the environment. Prevent entry
into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas. Dike far ahead of liquid spill for later
disposal. Move the cylinder to a safe and open area if the leak is irreparable.

Large Spills: Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Move the cylinder to a safe and
open area if the leak is irreparable. Use a non-combustible material like vermiculite, sand or
earth to soak up the product and place into a container for later disposal.

Never return spills to original containers for re-use. Clean up in accordance with all applicable

Small Spills: Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean contaminated surface
thoroughly. For waste disposal, see section 13.
Reference to other sections
See Section 8 for personal protective equipment. For waste disposal, see section 13.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not empty into drains.
Follow all SDS/label precautions even after container is emptied because they may retain product
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Protect from moisture. Use care in handling/storage. Keep in a well-ventilated place. Store in a
closed container away from incompatible materials. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
Keep container tightly closed. Keep the container dry. Keep this material away from food, drink and
animal feed.
Specific end use(s)
Not available.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls
Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use. Good ventilation should be used. Ventilation rates should be matched to conditions. If applicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment
General information
Wear chemical protective equipment that is specifically recommended by the manufacturer. Eye wash fountain is recommended.
Eye/face protection
Wear chemical goggles.
Skin protection
- Hand protection
Protective gloves. Solvent-resistant gloves (butylrubber). Permeation rate:
>480 min
Thickness: >0.7 mm
- Other
Wear suitable protective clothing.
Respiratory protection
Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). When workers are facing concentrations above the
exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators.

Stability and reactivity

Incompatible with strong acids and bases.
Chemical stability
Stable under normal conditions. Possibility of hazardous reactions Not expected to occur.
Conditions to avoid
May form explosive mixtures with air. Avoid temperatures exceeding the decomposition temperature.
Reacts violently with strong acids. This product may react with oxidizing agents.
Incompatible materials
Strong oxidizing agents.
Hazardous decomposition products
Decomposes on heating. Irritating and/or toxic fumes and gases may be emitted upon the products
decomposition. Carbon
oxides. Nitrogen oxides (NOx). Ammonia.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods
