Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Based on a weight of evidence approach, the water solubility of the substance bis (2 -ethylhexyl) sebacate (CAS 122 -62 -3) is determined to be <1 mg/L.

Included in this WoE are diisopropyl sebacate (WS = 2 mg/L) and dibutyl sebacate (WS <0.05 mg/L). As water solubility is a property that decreases with increasing chain length, i.e. increasing molecular weight, the assumption that the solubility of bis (2 -ethylhexyl) sebacate is <1 mg/L is justified.

Literature data for water solubility of bis(2 -ethylhexyl) sebacate (CAS 122 -62 -3) is provided in HSDB based on peer reviewed handbook data with 200 mg/L. No further information on method are available for this result. Therefore new and reliable experimental values for similar substances are taken into account for assessment.
