Additional information

At ambient conditions, 1,1'-(1,1,2,2-tetramethylethylene)dibenzene is a white solid (flakes) with a characteristic odour. The substance has a melting point of below 106 °C and a boiling point of 154 °C at atmospheric pressure. Its bulk density is 380 kg/m³ at 20 °C and its vapour pressure is 0.0265 hPa at 25 °C. While nearly soluble in water, its log Kow at 25 °C is 6.68. It is non-flammable and it does not spontaneously ignite in contact with air or reacts water. 1,1'-(1,1,2,2-tetramethylethylene)dibenzene does not show self-reactive or self-heating properties. The stability in organic solvents is considered as not critical. Furthermore, the test substance is not considered as flammable aerosol or organic peroxide and does not show explosive or oxidising properties.
