Description of key information

Based on the measured BCF (3.4-12) a low potential for bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is to be expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
12 dimensionless

Additional information

The measured bioconcentation factor of benzophenone is between 3.4 and 12 at concentrations of 0.3 mg/L and 0.03 mg/L, respectively, when exposed to Oryzias latipes. Based on these BCF values the potential for bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is low.
