Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusions:
The relative density of the reaction mass of cerium dioxide and zirconium dioxide is: D(20°C/4°C) = 6.7 +/- 0.062.
Executive summary:

The relative density of the reaction mass of cerium dioxide and zirconium dioxide was investigated in a GLP-compliant study performed according to EU method A3 and OECD guideline 109, using a stereopycnometer. A relative density of 6.7 +/- 0.062 was reported.

Description of key information

The relative density of the reaction mass of cerium dioxide and zirconium dioxide is: D(20°C/4°C) = 6.7 +/- 0.062. This relative density measurement was performed on a representative nanoform, but the relative density of any potential bulk form, should such form be placed on the market, can be expected to be very similar.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
6.7

Additional information

A GLP-compliant study of reliability 1 according to Klimisch was available on the reaction mass (Demangel, 2010b). It was flagged as a key study. As density is a substance-specific parameter, density values of both constituents were not reported here.
