Description of key information

The surface tension of an aqueous test substance solution at a concentration of 2.77 g/l (which corresponds to a FORMAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE  concentration of 1.11 g/L) and at a temperature of 20.0 °C is 72.9 mN/m. Based on the criteria as outlined in the EEC guideline, FORMAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE is not surface active.

The determination of the surface tension of an aqueous test substance solution was performed in accordance with the EEC-Directive 92/69 EEC, A.5 "Surface tension" (1992) and OECD guideline no. 115: "Surface tension of aqueous solutions" (1995).

Based on the criteria as outlined in the EEC guideline, FORMAMIDOPROPYLBETAINE is not surface active.
