Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The predicted values obtained for 124 Triazole Log Pow are all below 1 and can be extrapolated to the salt.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
-0.71
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Under environmental conditions, the sodium salt is reactive with water, and the 1,2,4 triazole can therefore be considered as its degradation product. On this basis one can considered that in the experimental conditions allowing Log Pow determination, the species which will finally be analyzed is the 1,2,4 triazole.

A study on 1,2,4 -Triazole using the flask shaking method (OECD 107) according to GLP requirements (Widmer, 2005) gives a partition coefficient value of log Pow = -0.71 at (pH=7). This result is supported by A QSAR value of -0.76.

Based on 124 Triazole log Kow values obtained in the frame of the modeling approaches, it can be concluded that 124 Triazole bioaccumulation potential is negligible. Under environmental conditions it is reasonable to expect that 124 triazole and its salt will behave similarly. Therefore bioaccumulation potential for salt is also expected to be negligible.
