Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Additional information

Hydrolysis:

The study is scientifically unjustified based on the nature of the substance (an inorganic salt with a very low solubility in water (< 1 mg/L)

Biodegradation:

In accordance with column 2 of REACH annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is inorganic.

Bioaccumulation

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the bioaccumulation study (required in section 9.3.2.) does not need to be conducted as bioaccumulation does not apply to the hazard assessment of inorganic metals or metal compounds. The available data is adequate for classification and labelling purposes and PBT assessment is not required for inorganic substances so no further testing is required.

Adsorption/desorption:

An estimated value on the Koc and log Koc of the test material was determined by QSAR.

According to information on the water solubility of the test material i.e. < 1 mg/L, the substance was classified as "predominantly hydrophobic". For this chemical class, the log Koc is given as:

log Koc = 0.81 log Pow + 0.10

The logarithm of the partition coefficient (log Pow) of the test material is > 0.564. Using this value, the log Koc of the test material was calculated to be > 0.56. It corresponds with a Koc value of > 3.6.

This value however is not considered as relevant because the "substance as such" is not considered to adsorb to soil.
