Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Flammability upon ignition is not applicable.
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.
The substance is not a self-reactive substance or mixture.
The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.
The substance is not an organic peroxide.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Flammability derived from flash point (and boilling point)

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-reactive as the heat of decomposition is greater than 300 J/g, but the onset temperature is greater than 200 °C.

The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as an organic peroxide as by definition based on their chemical structure the substance is no organic peroxide.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The following classification criteria are met:

Category 4 (flammable liquids and vapour) of UN GHS: flash point >= 60 °C and <= 93 °C

no Catagory of EU Directive 67/548/EEC: flash point > 55 °C; no Category of EU CLP: flash point > 60 °C

Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Directive 67/548/EEC, as amended for the 31st time in Directive 2009/2/EG, the substance is not considered to be classified as flammable in contact with water or pyrophoric.

Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the sixth time in Regulation (EC) No 605/2014., the substance is not considered to be classified as flammable in contact with water, pyrophoric or organic peroxide.

Based on the DSC result it is also not considered to be classified as a self-reactive substance and based on the appearance it is not considered to be clasiified as a self heating substance.
