The ready biodegradability of the test item was assessed according to the OECD guideline 301 D “Ready biodegradability: Closed Bottle Test”. Under the test conditions, the percentage of biodegradation of 1,3-diethyl-2-thiourea reached 3 % of the ThOD at the end of the test (28 days) and is thus not readily biodegradable.


In addition, using an in-silico approach, the biotic degradation products of the test substance were identified using the EAWAG tool and their persistence profile has been studied with EPISuite (v4.1). None of the identified degradation products is expected to fulfill the P criterion. Therefore higher tier degradation studies have been waived
