Description of key information
The flash point of the substance is determined to be 19.0 °C at 1013.25 hPa using the closed cup method.

A GLP study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Annex A.9. The BASF GLP study determined the flash point to be 19.0 °C at 1013.25 hPa.
This result is supported by an older study which reported the flash point to be 22°C and some literature sources. Sax's Dangerous Properties of Industrial Materials reported the flash point to be below 21 °C and Knovel Solvents - A Properties Database reported the flash point to be 22 °C.
All values are very close to the Classification limit for flammable liquids. Therefore, it was decided to have a new study to clarify this.
The new study lead into the following classification:
R11 (highly flammable) of EU Directive 67/548/EEC: flash point <= 21 °C and initial boiling point > 35 °C;
Flammable liquids, Category 2 (highly flammable liquids and vapour) of EU CLP: flash point <= 23 °C and initial boiling point > 35 °C
