Additional information

Acute data are available for all three trophic levels. A 96-hr LC50 of 1.7 mg/L was identified for the fish species Oncorhynchus mykiss (rainbow trout). A 48-hr EC50 of 0.55 mg/L was obtained for Daphnia magna and a 72-hr ErC50 of 0.65 mg/L was found for Scenedesmus subspicatus (new name Desmodesmus subspicatus). No chronic toxicity data are available for aquatic organisms. The reference effect level (0.55 mg/L) was taken from the Daphnia study, as this was the most sensitive species. This value is indicative of an Acute Category 1 classification (EC, 2008). Furthermore, though MMP is not likely to bioaccumulate based on the predicted BCF of 3.16 L/kg wwt, MMP has not been shown to rapidly degrade in the aquatic environment. Also, no chronic data are available for exposure of MMP to aquatic organisms. Therefore, MMP cannot be exempted from chronic classification and has an overall classification of Chronic Category 1, with an M-factor of 1.
