Key result
Flash point:
110 °C
Atm. press.:
101.325 kPa

The results of the main test are:

First determination: Flash point, corrected for atmospheric pressure: 109.5°C

Second determination: Flash point, corrected for atmospheric pressure: 110.5°C

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Under the conditions of the study, the flash point of hexenyl-3-cis salicylate was determined to be 110°C at 101.325 kPa.
Executive summary:

In a GLP-compliant flash point study conducted in line with EU Method A.9 and ISO 2719:2002, the flash point of hexenyl-3-cis salicylate was determined by the Pensky-Martens closed cup method. The flash point of the substance was determined to be 110°C at 101.325 kPa.

Description of key information

Flash point was determined to be 110°C at 101.325 kPa; study conducted in accordance with EU A.9 and ISO 2719:2002; Kruetzer (2011a)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
110 °C

Additional information

In a GLP-compliant flash point study conducted in line with standardised guidelines, the flash point of (Z)-3-hexenyl salicylate was determined by the Pensky-Martens closed cup method. The flash point of the substance was determined to be 110°C at 101.325 kPa. As the study was performed to GLP and standardised guidelines, it was allocated a reliability score of 1 and considered to be the key study.

Supporting information is presented as company product specifications and a Safety Data Sheet allocated a reliability score of 4. The flash point is reported as >94 - 113ºC.
