Two GLP ready biodegradability study  (OECD 301D and OECD 301F)  and one study on COD/BOD are available for 2-(dimethylamino)-2-methylpropan-1-ol (DMAMP).

Two ready biodegradability study and one study on COD/BOD are available for 2-(dimethylamino)-2-methylpropan-1-ol (DMAMP).

A ready biodegradation study according to OECD 301 D showed 8% degradation after 28days (Kutter, 1996). The second ready biodegradation study was conducted following OECD Guideline 301 F and GLP (Hales, 2011). Activated sludge from a domestic sewage treatment plant was used as inoculum. During the 28 -day test period, 0% biodegradation was observed, based on O2 consumption and CO2 evolution and 4.1% based on DOC removal. The test substance is thus not considered as readily biodegradable. However, since cumulative oxygen consumption in the Test Mixtures was less than that in Inoculum Blanks, the results suggest that the test substance was at least partially inhibitory to the sludge inoculum under the conditions of the test.

The COD/BOD study cannot be used for assessment, since the documentation is not sufficient to evaluate the quality of the results.
