Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The aerobic biodegradation of bis(2-butoxyethyl) adipate in a standard MITI test (OECD 301C), was estimated with the BIOWIN model (v. 4.10). The substance is estimated to be readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

The aerobic biodegradation of bis(2-butoxyethyl) adipate was estimated by BIOWIN version 4.10.This QSAR model is included in the EPI Suite programs developed by Sycracuse Research Corporation for US-EPA. The conclusion of BIOWIN is that bis(2-butoxyethyl) adipate is estimated to be readily biodegradable in a standard MITI test (OECD test guideline 301C). The mineralisation is estimated to take days to weeks and the primary degradation occurs within a timeframe of days. Test results on biodegradation are not available. The calculated result can be used for classification and risk assessment.
