Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

An adsorption/desorption study is not required because bis(2-butoxyethyl) adipate mineralizes rapidly (Annex VIII point 9.3.1 column 2).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to the standard information requirements in Annex VIII point 9.3.1 column 2, an adsorption/desorption study is not required if the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly. Bis(2-butoxyethyl) adipate is estimated to be readily biodegradable and hence to mineralise to CO2 and water in a standard MITI test (OECD test guideline 301C) by the BIOWIN model. An adsorption/desorption study does not have to be conducted for bis(2-butoxyethyl) adipate.
