Description of key information

Stability of 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C6-10-alkyl esters against hydrolysis was calculated using the computer programHYDROWIN (v 2.00).A base-catalysed second-order hydrolysis rate constant of 0.04631 L/mole-sec was estimated using a structure estimation method. This corresponds to half-lives of 4.742 years at pH 7 and 173.212 days at pH 8.
