It is predicted that the substance will be degraded in the atmosphere by reaction with photochemically-produced hydroxyl radicals. The half-life for this reaction in air is estimated to be approximately 7 hours.

The half-life for this reaction in air of the structurally related substance 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C8 -10 -alkyl esters in the atmosphere

is estimated to be approximately 6 hours and supports the short half-life.
